Inherit the Wind quote analysis please!?
i need a a good descriptive analysis of these quotes please help its for a test!
1. (Pg 17) Hornbeck: "a man who wears a cathedral for a cloak, a church spire for a hat…"
2. (Pg 33) Rachel: "a schoolteacher is a public servant: I think he should do what the law and the school-board want him to. if the superintendent says, ‘Miss Brown, youre to teach formt eh Whitley’s Second Reader," i dont feel i have to give him an agreement."
3. ( Pg 34) Rachel: "Matthew Harrison Brady came here to find himself a stump to shout from. thats all."
4. (Pg 47) Drummond: ‘all i want is to prevent the clock-stoppers from dumping a load of medival nonsense into the United States Constitution."
5. (Pg 51) Drummond: "im sorry if i offended you. but i dont swear just for the hell of it. you see, i figure language is a poor enough means of communication as it is. so we ought to use all the words we’ve got. besides, there are damned few words that everybody understands."
